Ibridi tra carne e metallo popolano l’opera di H.R. Giger, illustratore, pittore, designer e scultore che ha creato lo Xenomorfo, il mostro di Alien di Ridley Scott, per il quale vinse l’Oscar. L’aspetto interessante, fra i molti, è quello che lo Xenomorfo - con altre creazioni di Giger - sembra divenire sempre più attuale, rappresentando sotto certi aspetti, il presente e, soprattutto, il futuro prossimo, dalle ibridazioni di materie (come nella biomeccanica) sino, a livello più metaforico ma forse non troppo, all’ibridazione tra realtà (multiversi). Lo Xenomorfo “nasce” da una sorta di vegetale, si attacca al volto dell’uomo in forma aracnoide, lo invade ed emerge da esso come una sorta di enorme larva / verme e cresce divenendo un insieme - ibrido, appunto - di materia vivente e metallo.
